Parepare Municipality experienced deflation in August 2025

BPS Statistic of Parepare municipality recorded deflation of 0.05 percent (month-to-month) in August 2025.

There was a decline in the consumer price index (CPI) from 110.91 in July 2025 to 110.85 in

August 2025. This condition is similar to August 2024, where there was also deflation of

0.16 percent. On an annual basis, there was inflation of 4.46 percent, and on a calendar year basis

there was inflation of 4.00 percent.

The expenditure group contributing the most to monthly deflation was food, beverages,

and tobacco, which experienced deflation of 0.50 percent, with an inflation contribution of 0.16

percent. The transportation group in August 2025 experienced inflation of 0.53 percent and

contributed 0.06 percent to inflation. The personal care and other services group experienced

inflation of 0.24 percent and had an inflation contribution of 0.02 percent.

The main contributors to inflation in August 2025 on a year-on-year basis were: the Food,

Beverages and Tobacco group with a contribution of 3.21%. The main commodity contributing to inflation in

this group was Rice with a contribution of 0.65%. The Personal Care and Other Services group

with a contribution of 0.75%. The main commodity contributing to inflation in this group was Gold

Jewelry with a contribution of 0.68%.
