Human Development Index of Parepare Municipality 2024

The Human Development Index (HDI) of Parepare in 2024 is 80.97. This achievement is an aggregation of three dimensions, namely longevity and healthy living, knowledge, and a decent standard of living. In order to calculate the dimension of longevity and healthy living, the indicator used is life expectancy. Currently, life expectancy at birth is the result of the 2020 Population Census long form. Currently, life expectancy at birth in Parepare is 74.63 years, in other words, newborns in 2024 are expected to survive to the age of 74.63 years. Meanwhile, the average length of schooling is one indicator that represents the knowledge dimension. On average, residents of Parepare City aged 25 years and over have undergone formal education for 10.88 years or have completed education equivalent to grades 1 to 2 of high school. Another indicator in the knowledge dimension is the expected length of schooling. The average 7-year-old population who starts school is expected to receive education for the next 14.55 years or equivalent to completing higher education up to diploma II. The third dimension is a decent standard of living represented by the adjusted per capita expenditure indicator (PPP) which has reached IDR 14.93 million per capita per year in 2024.
